About The Position

This role performs technical support work in operations engineering, using considerable judgment and initiative to resolve complex problems and make recommendations. The incumbent works under minimal supervision, may provide functional guidance to others, and may be considered an expert in assigned areas. The position involves exchanging information and explaining technical issues while solving problems with internal and external contacts. The work includes analyzing schematics and technical documentation; troubleshooting and repairing products, test equipment, and fixtures; inspecting product and equipment quality; operating and adjusting test equipment; and maintaining electromechanical surface-mount assembly equipment. With support and direction from more experienced engineers, the incumbent also performs complex testing, debugging, failure analysis, circuit modification, and design verification for new and prototype products. Additional duties include preventive maintenance, equipment and spare-parts recordkeeping, inventory tracking, and assisting with equipment moves, installation, setup, and refurbishment. Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, machinery, temperature extremes, and hazardous substances, and may involve repetitive motions, tool use, material handling, and lifting objects over 20 pounds.
