About The Position

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking an Operations Engineering Specialist I to join their team. This role is crucial in supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services by assisting with the planning, coordination, and performance of methods, tooling, and design. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or a related curriculum, or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 5 years in the specific technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines, or 3 years in the specific technical discipline with Masters degree, or 1 year in the specific technical discipline with PhD.
  • Extensive experience in Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Planning, including MBOM creation/alterations and Work Instructions planning in SAP.
  • Experience in reviewing and validating the work of personnel, ensuring compliance with manufacturing engineering and quality standards.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional projects and initiatives between Operations and Support organizations to drive continuous improvements.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Completions experience preferred.
  • Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and maintain detailed work instructions for the manufacturing process.
  • Drive quality improvements, efficiency improvements, and material presentation enhancements.
  • Manage the daily work plan and provide metrics for quality and schedule performance.
  • Coordinate engineering and tooling changes as required to meet Operations goals.
  • Contribute to the planning, developing, and coordinating of important manufacturing and engineering projects aimed at process development and improvement.
  • Provide specialized technical assistance and training to Operations Engineering team members.
  • Use advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems affecting aircraft manufacture, system installation, or final product performance.
  • Determine and develop individual approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
  • Act as liaison with representatives from other organizations and suppliers.
  • Actively work to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields to recommend innovations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
