Operations Engineering Specialist I

This position assists with the planning, coordination, and performance of methods, tooling, and design supporting the development and production of Gulfstream products and services.
Requirements
- Extensive experience in Manufacturing Engineering (ME) Planning, including MBOM creation/alterations and Work Instructions planning in SAP.
- Experience in reviewing and validating the work of personnel, ensuring compliance with manufacturing engineering and quality standards.
- Ability to lead cross-functional projects and initiatives between Operations and Support organizations to drive continuous improvements.
- Bachelor's Degree engineering or a related curriculum required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- 5 years in the specific technical discipline or 10 years broad engineering experience in several technical disciplines, or 3 years in the specific technical discipline with Masters degree, or 1 year in the specific technical discipline with PhD.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Nice To Haves
- Completions experience preferred.
- Advanced degree in engineering related field preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide and maintain detailed work instructions.
- Drive quality improvements, efficiency improvements, and material presentation enhancements.
- Manage the daily work plan.
- Provide metrics for quality and schedule performance.
- Coordinate engineering and tooling changes as required to meet Operations goals.
- Contribute to the planning, developing, and coordinating of important manufacturing and engineering projects aimed at process development and improvement in the manufacturing areas.
- Provide specialized technical assistance and training to Operations Engineering team members.
- Use advanced techniques and modified extension of theories to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems that affect the successful manufacture of the aircraft, installation of systems, or performance of the final product.
- Determine and develop individual approach to solutions within schedule and cost objectives.
- Work under limited supervision - work should only be required to be reviewed for accuracy and consistency with meeting overall objectives.
- Act as liaison with representatives from other organizations and suppliers.
- Actively work to improve daily processes and ensures all work meets customer requirements.
- Maintain a current knowledge of developments in the field of specialty and/or other related aircraft fields in order to recommend innovations to improve quality and effectiveness of processes and company product.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
