About The Position

Medline is seeking talented individuals for a 10-week summer internship program, running from early June through mid-August. This program is designed for rising seniors in undergraduate programs and offers real-world, hands-on experience in one of our four corporate offices in the Chicagoland area. Interns will take ownership of projects, gain insight into daily responsibilities, and participate in enriching activities such as social and networking events, leadership presentations, and community service. The goal is to build tangible skills that set interns apart from their peers through meaningful work and professional development.

Requirements

Background in Engineering, Industrial or Systems preferred
Junior standing with 3.0 minimum GPA preferred
Strong leadership abilities and demonstrated problem solving skills
Motivated self-starter
Unrestricted permanent US work authorization

Nice To Haves

Experience with Lean Manufacturing/Continuous Improvement principles is a plus

Responsibilities

Work directly with rotational engineers on projects assigned from upper management relating to Medline warehouses.
Focus on areas such as work measurements and standards, process improvements, cost-benefit analysis and justification, and other assigned tasks.
Undertake project lengths that will vary from small daily activities to large scale projects spanning the duration of the internship.
Analyze and correct bottlenecks in a Medline warehouse.
Create and implement new standards.
Slot multiple warehouses to improve travel time per line.
Improve cubic utilization within the warehouses.
Provide on-site support during technology (robotics) go lives.
