About The Position
Atkore is seeking an Operations Engineer to join their team in Hobart, Indiana. This role reports to the Sr. Engineering Manager and is responsible for standardizing operational procedures, defining standard production rates, and ensuring the accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Routings. The position will also focus on projects aimed at improving efficiency, uptime, and cost reduction. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of manufacturing experience, with a preference for experience in lean manufacturing or a business system-based company.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with JD Edwards is a plus.
Nice To Haves
- Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee continuous improvement projects as a Project Leader or Facilitator, driving improvements in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
- Define standard procedures and operating variables throughout manufacturing processes.
- Engineer solutions and implement standard work/work instructions to sustain improvements.
- Review downtime and under-rate data and utilize lean tools to drive improvement.
- Conduct time studies, review rates, and manage standard changes (BOMs and Routings).
- Take direction from facility leadership to develop and execute Capital Expenditure Requests.
- Manage site productivity improvement projects and project ideation.
- Maintain ownership of routings and ensure routing accuracy in JDE and legacy systems.
