The Operational Excellence Engineer supports Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify waste, improve process flow, and support data-driven problem-solving. The engineer assists in conducting Kaizen events, analyzing process performance, and implementing sustainable improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and throughput.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
  • 2-4 years Manufacturing operations, CI, or process engineering required
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Standard Work, Kaizen)
  • Basic Six Sigma concepts (DMAIC, SPC
  • Data analysis & reporting (Excel, Minitab preferred)
  • Strong communication and teamwork
  • Understanding of manufacturing systems and workflows

Nice To Haves

  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred
  • 1-2 years Lean or Six Sigma project support preferred

Responsibilities

  • Support Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma improvement projects across manufacturing operations.
  • Assist with value stream mapping, Kaizen events, root cause analysis (RCA), and SPC activities.
  • Document standardized work, support 5S activities, and help maintain visual management systems.
  • Analyze production data, identify trends, and assist with corrective and preventive action initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize manufacturing workflows and reduce waste.
  • Provide basic Lean/Six Sigma coaching to production personnel.
  • Assist in developing KPIs and reports that support continuous improvement initiatives.
