About The Position

The role requires monitoring and controlling various power plant equipment, performing manual adjustments, maintaining logs, and responding to equipment issues. The work environment is industrial with exposure to various environmental factors, and the position operates on rotating shifts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Four years of experience of operating power house equipment in plants containing high-pressure boilers.
• ASOPE First Grade Operating Engineer License preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control equipment such as Gas Engine Generators, boilers, pumps, biogas compressors, and auxiliary Power Plant equipment.
• Visually inspect equipment and operate it locally when necessary.
• Maintain logs, change charts, and adjust systems to meet operational requirements.
• Respond to equipment problems by shutting down, starting up, or requesting maintenance.
• Maintain records of equipment status.
• Perform boiler analysis and maintain inventory of chemicals.
• Make appropriate changes using computer control systems and visually inspecting related equipment.
• Locally observe and inspect equipment to ensure proper operating status.
• Follow established inspection procedures and start equipment locally.
• Report any equipment malfunctions to Operating Engineer IV.
• Locate and eliminate trouble for Operating Engineer IV.
• Control Process Air Compressors locally.
• Log operational status of equipment pertaining to pressure, flow, and temperature.
• Inspect and observe operational areas for fire hazards or unsafe activity.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain pumping equipment.
• Exercise and lubricate various types of valves and valve operators.
• Record preventative maintenance, scheduled maintenance, and emergency repairs.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and order needed parts.
• Service Sampler In-take unit, if necessary.
• Perform minor maintenance as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and equipment.
• Maintain security of ACC 5 operating area.
