The Instrumentation Operation Engineer Level III will modify, install, test, evaluate, repair, and document the airborne test instrumentation data acquisition systems, as well as the operation and performance of ground support equipment. This role involves collecting data from multiple sensors, developing and analyzing data, or reviewing tasks under generally established project deadlines. The engineer will act as a lead for the sustainment, operations, and maintenance team on more complex engineering assignments. They will coordinate and work closely with other engineering, logistics, financial, and program management disciplines to define system specifications and meet project requirements. The position requires verifying and complying with engineering documentation standards and test procedures, performing technical analyses, and authoring/presenting formal technical papers. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and developing technical proposals, evaluating scope, feasibility, and level of effort, and authoring and maintaining system/subsystem specifications and technical documentation. The engineer will directly interface with customers at all levels from quotation to final design and support test activities, acting as a liaison for design reviews and technical working group meetings. They will also conduct site visits and experimental investigations, analyze engineering problems, propose solutions and alternatives, and provide recommendations.
