Hera Technologies is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of Operations to lead and scale our operational infrastructure in support of rapid business growth. This role is responsible for building the systems, processes, and teams to drive operational excellence within our materials manufacturing, CNC machining, bonding, coating, and assembly operations. As a key member of the leadership team, the Director of Operations through strong collaboration with supply chain, planning, quality, and program management, will translate our growth strategy into disciplined execution. The ideal candidate is both a forward-thinking strategist and a roll-up-your-sleeves operator who thrives in dynamic, high-growth environments and is comfortable building structure where it does not yet exist.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience
  • Experience leading manufacturing operations in aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or highly regulated environments
  • Demonstrated success improving operational performance across cost, quality, and delivery metrics
  • Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning
  • Experience implementing performance management systems and building KPI-driven cultures
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage through growth and change

Responsibilities

  • Proven experience leading end-to-end operations across manufacturing, production planning, supply chain, quality, and logistics with full accountability for cost, quality, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute operational strategies aligned with aggressive growth targets, building scalable infrastructure to support commercial expansion and increasing program complexity.
  • Experience establishing KPIs, dashboards, and data-driven performance management systems to drive accountability, visibility, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong track record designing and implementing scalable operational systems, identifying capacity constraints, and deploying solutions across process, staffing, capital equipment, automation, and systems.
  • Ability to translate business development pipelines and revenue forecasts into executable production and operational roadmaps.
  • Experience leading facility expansions, capital planning initiatives, and operational investment strategies.
  • Proven expertise establishing and standardizing SOPs, production workflows, procurement processes, inventory controls, and operational governance frameworks that balance structure with agility.
  • Hands-on experience driving lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput, reduce waste, and enhance predictability.
  • Strong analytical capability with experience leveraging data and metrics to identify inefficiencies and implement measurable performance improvements.
  • Demonstrated success recruiting, developing, and mentoring high-performing operations leaders and teams, evolving organizational structures to support company growth and increasing complexity.
  • Ability to build a culture of ownership, accountability, cross-functional collaboration, and entrepreneurial mindset while instituting operational rigor.
  • Experience leading through organizational change with clarity, decisiveness, and strong executive-level communication skills.
  • Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Programs, Finance, and Commercial teams to ensure successful customer program execution.
  • Experience supporting proposal development through capacity modeling, operational costing, risk assessment, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to serve as a strategic thought partner to executive leadership on growth initiatives, operational investments, scalability planning, and long-term operational strategy.
