About The Position

The Operations Director is responsible for leading day-to-day manufacturing execution across assigned Maverick Power production operations, ensuring safe, predictable, and scalable performance that supports growth, on-time delivery, and margin objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Industrial Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive manufacturing or operations leadership in discrete manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading plant, value-stream, or multi-department operations teams in high-mix, engineered-product, ETO/CTO, or similar manufacturing settings.
  • Experience improving on-time delivery, throughput, labor productivity, and operating discipline without compromising safety or quality.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing execution, production flow, Lean principles, and continuous improvement.
  • Experience using operational KPIs to manage performance, including throughput, labor productivity, backlog, schedule attainment, and quality indicators.
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems, production scheduling, and manufacturing reporting tools.
  • Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, accountability, conflict management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Ability to move between floor-level detail and broader operational priorities in a fast-paced growth environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree or equivalent operations leadership development is a plus but not required.
  • Experience in electrical equipment, power distribution, industrial systems, capital equipment, or closely related industries strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in a high-growth environment with changing priorities, scaling processes, and capacity constraints preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily and weekly manufacturing execution across assigned operations, ensuring production plans, safety expectations, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Translate company and functional priorities into clear expectations, operating rhythms, and measurable targets for supervisors, managers, and site leaders.
  • Drive accountability for schedule attainment, labor productivity, throughput, and recovery actions when performance falls behind plan.
  • Escalate material risks, staffing constraints, quality concerns, and capacity issues early with recommended actions and tradeoffs.
  • Coach and develop frontline and mid-level operations leaders to improve decision-making, follow-through, and consistency of execution.
  • Establish and maintain a common operating cadence, including tier meetings, production reviews, KPI visibility, and disciplined follow-up on commitments.
  • Reinforce standard work for production leadership, including shift startup, issue escalation, handoffs, and end-of-day performance review.
  • Promote a culture where problems are surfaced professionally, root causes are addressed, and teams solve issues without blame or last-minute heroics.
  • Improve production flow, cycle time, labor efficiency, and execution stability through practical process discipline and structured problem solving.
  • Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality, and Planning to remove bottlenecks and improve line readiness, material flow, and work sequencing.
  • Support production ramps, new product introductions, and capacity changes by helping teams stabilize processes while protecting safety, quality, and inventory discipline.
  • Champion Lean behaviors and continuous improvement efforts that simplify work, reduce waste, and make performance more predictable.
  • Model and enforce a safety-first mindset in all operating decisions, with zero tolerance for shortcuts that increase risk.
  • Partner closely with Quality to ensure workmanship standards, issue containment, and corrective actions are integrated into daily execution.
  • Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, Planning, and customer-facing teams to align production priorities with customer commitments.
  • Support annual planning, capacity discussions, and staffing plans with grounded operational input from the floor and site level.
