About The Position

Pall Corporation, an operating company of Danaher, is a global leader in high-tech filtration, separation, and purification. The Operations Director is responsible for the oversight of activities in production and manufacturing at the Cortland, NY Plant, which has over 300 associates. This leadership role focuses on developing processes to maximize safety, quality, productivity, and followership across Manufacturing Operations, Facilities, Manufacturing Engineering, and Materials. The position reports to the VP Operations North America and Energy+ and is an on-site role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years of experience, or Master’s degree with 6+ years of experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing people in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with successful implementation of Continuous Improvements, Lean Manufacturing programs, principles, and practices.
  • Strong understanding of CI tools and techniques with the ability to demonstrate sustained results.
  • Thorough understanding of the inter-relationship between manufacturing, S & OP, engineering, inventory/materials management, quality and regulatory affairs programs, and purchasing.
  • Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate development and sustainment of a safety culture with outstanding outcomes.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) and people skills.
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences.
  • Results-oriented, creative, and self-motivated.
  • Strong financial background with the ability to articulate how operational decisions impact financial outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Drive activities to achieve annual Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity targets through effective use of Danaher Business System (DBS) tools, including Daily Management and KPI action plan development.
  • Perform supervisory activities such as recruitment and selection, training and development, coaching, and administering performance and salary reviews for direct reports.
  • Ensure KPIs and key goals are achieved, manufacturing capacity meets the sales plan, and sustainable processes and capabilities are built.
  • Promote, lead, and coach others in the use of DBS tools and lean concepts to improve manufacturability, productivity, yields, cost, process variation, and customer quality.
  • Partner with HR and the leadership team to manage headcount, overtime, factory expenses, and fiscal budgets.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership and drive safety programs that yield measurable improvements.
