About The Position

The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth is seeking a new leader for the Eastside YMCA to provide leadership for the development and successful operations of program areas including membership, health & wellness, aquatics, playhouse, and youth-zone. The Operations Director will be responsible for leading the overall operations at the Eastside YMCA, driving member experience, and leading staff in programs to achieve membership growth and retention. This role involves leading, training, coaching, and developing staff and managing member relations, with a focus on the needs of the East Fort Worth community. Under the direction of the District Executive Director, the Operations Director will manage day-to-day operations, special events, the community campaign portion of the annual campaign, and serve as a liaison to the branch board of directors. The ideal candidate will have a passion for YMCA operations and community impact, and will be responsible for maintaining existing partnerships with the City of Fort Worth and Sid Richardson foundation, as well as building new relationships and programs to support the Eastside operation. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent years of comparable experience.
  • High energy, positive, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail and a high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful.
  • The ability to direct programs through leading both staff and volunteers, developing and monitoring of budgets, developing and marketing of programs and bringing enthusiasm and a passion for fundraising.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborations with community organizations.
  • This leader will need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Four or more years of program management and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish would be a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements, and manages operating plans to promote program and/or membership growth for the Eastside YMCA. Executes strategies to ensure that members and/or program participants connect with one another and connect with the YMCA.
  • Develops and controls department budgets related to the position.
  • Hires, trains, and supervises staff and volunteers in assigned areas. Facilitates communication and provides leadership. Models relationship-building skills in all interactions.
  • Provides leadership and support to the annual fundraising campaign and volunteer committees/board as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
  • Ensures high quality member-focused programs through innovative program development, evaluations and ongoing training of staff.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership throughout the branch ensuring all member, volunteer and staff needs are being met and that the YMCA assets are protected and in good working order at all times.
  • Works with department directors to develop annual performance goals and objectives in line with approved department budgets.
  • Provide staff with the tools and direction they need to assist in reaching the branch's goals in new member acquisition, member retention, and program development.
  • Assures compliance with state and local regulations. Ensures that program standards are met and safety procedures are followed.
  • Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs.
