About The Position

The Operations Director works closely with clinic and organizational leadership to ensure regulatory compliance and advance organizational goals. This role oversees operational performance across departments and clinics within a service line, with a strong focus on strategic planning, financial management, process improvement, service excellence, and patient satisfaction. This position requires strong communication and customer service skills to build and maintain positive relationships with physicians, staff, clinic leaders, patients, and colleagues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience required
• Working knowledge of CPT coding
• Working knowledge of Budgeting and financial management
• Working knowledge of Staffing and clinic workflow
• Working knowledge of Word processing and spreadsheet software

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Partner with physicians and leadership to provide high-quality, cost-effective services within budgetary guidelines
• Lead program and service planning, development, and execution
• Develop, manage, and monitor annual operating and capital budgets; authorize expenditures and take corrective action as needed
• Analyze departmental operations to identify opportunities for cost reduction, growth, efficiency, and process improvement
• Ensure all clinics and departments operate in alignment with organizational mission, values, and policies
• Collect and analyze operational data; prepare activity and performance reports for leadership
• Establish objectives and operational criteria for managed departments
• Participate in strategic and long-range planning initiatives
• Direct, supervise, and evaluate medical, nursing, technical, clerical, and administrative staff
• Oversee recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and staff training
• Approve employee work hours and coordinate payroll information with Human Resources
• Develop staffing schedules and monitor resource utilization to ensure operational efficiency
• Consistently interpret, apply, and follow Human Resources and service line policies and procedures
• Maintain awareness of applicable laws and regulations; ensure compliance and recommend actions when needed
• Lead and manage change initiatives related to workflow redesign, care delivery models, and technology
• Assist in planning and implementing organizational strategic initiatives
• Attend operations and leadership meetings as required
• Promote a positive, professional image of The Iowa Clinic internally and externally
• Serve as a role model by fostering positive interpersonal relationships
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and corporate/physician financial information
• Adhere to safety, infection control, and universal precaution policies
• Pursue ongoing professional development to remain current on industry trends and best practices
