A qualified physician practicing within the scope of the Tennessee regulations managing medical aspects of patient care through written medical protocols. This role involves providing medical patient care by interviewing, examining, and treating clinical patients to meet their medical needs. The physician is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and formulating treatment plans. The role also includes prescribing medications, overseeing mid-level medical staff and nursing staff, ordering studies and ancillary services, and maintaining accurate medical records. The physician will consult with the Medical Director and other professionals as needed, assist in resolving patient complaints, and refer patients to specialized resources. Care must be provided in a developmentally appropriate manner, addressing disease prevention and health promotion. Patient education on preventive care, medical issues, and treatments is crucial. The physician will work collaboratively with medical staff, share knowledge, and assimilate new information into practice. The role also involves responsible use of hospital resources and efficient time management, as well as accurate recording of patient charges for billing.
