About The Position

Group 1001 is seeking an Operations Data Product Owner to connect data and AI capabilities with operational decisions and workflows. This role is accountable for identifying and prioritizing the operations problems most worth solving, interpreting data in ways that inform specific decisions, and ensuring insights are adopted in the contact center and back office. A central data and engineering team handles production builds; the Operations Data Product Owner frames and qualifies the work, specifies what is needed, evaluates the result, and owns whether it is implemented effectively. The role also helps shape and qualify AI applications for operations data and represents operations in decisions about how those capabilities are used and governed. Success is measured by operational outcomes: better decisions, realized value, the right problems being prioritized, adoption of trusted insights in real workflows, and effective co-ownership with the central data team. Group 1001 describes itself as a consumer-centric, technology-driven family of insurance companies focused on outstanding value and operational performance, and emphasizes collaboration, communication, core business focus, risk management, and outcomes.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in a data product owner, analytics, or data subject-matter-expert role, with a track record of data work that changed business outcomes rather than only delivering reports.
  • Fluency with operational data and reporting, including the ability to assess a complex or messy data landscape and identify what matters.
  • Analytical judgment to critically interrogate data and models and interpret them soundly without needing to build them.
  • Ability to partner effectively with a central data organization without turf friction.
  • Strong communication and influence skills, including turning analysis into decisions, earning senior stakeholders’ trust, and maintaining a point of view when it is unpopular.
  • Applied AI fluency, including an understanding of AI and agentic capabilities, their limitations, and where they are worth applying.
  • Working knowledge of the modern data stack, including Snowflake and related tooling.
  • Intellectual curiosity, including asking why data appears as it does, investigating discrepancies, and continuing to learn.
  • Empathy and the ability to read a room, give feedback constructively, receive feedback without ego, and adapt when plans change.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in insurance, financial services, or another regulated industry.
  • Contact center or operations domain experience, including experience with Amazon Connect or Snowflake-based analytics.
  • Hands-on experience defining dashboards or data products that teams use.

Responsibilities

  • Translate operations strategy into a prioritized portfolio of problems to address with data, analytics, and AI, distinguishing structural opportunities from low-value quick wins.
  • Interpret data and communicate insights as narratives that inform specific operational decisions, including challenging plans when the data contradicts them.
  • Drive insights into operational workflows and decision points, and take ownership of their adoption.
  • Qualify opportunities for the central data and engineering build queue; write specifications that define requirements, shared data dependency rules, and completion criteria.
  • Assess whether delivered data products or solutions are correct and fit for purpose.
  • Help shape and qualify where AI and agentic capabilities should be applied in operations data, and represent operations in their use and governance.
  • Partner with the central data team to co-own use cases and ensure work is handed off and delivered effectively.
