About The Position

The Operations Data Analyst is responsible for developing, coordinating, and reporting on data-driven quality assurance and performance measurement programs to support daily operations across Transportation departments. This role performs complex analytical functions, leveraging a variety of computer-based tools and data sources to collect, analyze, and interpret operational data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and decision-making throughout the Operations Division.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • One year of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or quantitative reporting.
  • Strong experience in graphing data to display statistical data and trends.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • Intermediate to advanced use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Statistical data analysis skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Interpersonal, customer service, and listening skills.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data tools required, including V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Math Functions, Linking, and Conditional Formatting.
  • Create accurate and visually effective spreadsheets, reports, and graphs that represent complex information in a clear way.
  • Conduct research, analyze findings, and prepare clear and concise reports and recommendations.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees; maintain confidential information; prioritize work based on the ongoing demands of the department; prepare clear, concise and complete reports and correspondence; exercise initiative and work independently; operate a variety of office equipment and machines.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity, and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks.

  • Prefer a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Compile, monitor, and prepare various operational and statistical data related to performance tracking, benchmarking, and scorecard tracking for the Transportation, Mobility, Safety/Security & Training, and Customer Service divisions of Operations.
  • Prepare statistical reports, graphs, spreadsheets, and forecasts, identifying specific performance metrics and trend analysis for each of the above-mentioned Operational divisions.
  • Assist in the preparation of data reports, training materials, presentations, publications, and other materials as needed by one of the above-mentioned divisions.
  • Data compilation will include but not be limited to the following: on-time performance (fixed), on-time performance (paratransit), missed trips (fixed), missed trips (paratransit), incidents (non-collision), incidents (injury), vehicle collisions, preventable incidents & preventable collisions, various incoming customer service calls & chats, customer service hold times, special plug bus trips, ridership trends (by route), security events, complaints (of all types), and absenteeism (of all types).
  • Schedule periodic audits of multiple databases to ensure accuracy and quality of information input by various transportation personnel.
  • Interpreting data and analyzing results using statistical techniques.
  • Perform data analysis to proactively identify potential problem areas or adverse trends requiring further investigation.
  • Monitor trends and create data-driven forecast models in order to establish departmental performance goals and benchmarking.
  • Maintain files for the purpose of providing complete and accurate documentation and staying prepared for all potential audits.
  • Participate in industry-related meetings, workshops, seminars, and conferences [as necessary] for the purpose of increasing self-education, gathering information, conveying information, networking, developing contacts, and representing the various divisions within Operations.
  • Develops and maintains clear instructional documents, templates, and standard operating procedures.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Performs other functions as assigned.
