About The Position

The Operations Coordinator manages the movement of inventory through the Material Review Board (MRB), handles equipment logistics to, from, and between customer locations, and maintains relationships with client's equipment coordinators. This role involves ensuring timely input and flow of job reporting and managing communications with shop personnel and management. Key responsibilities include maximizing lower and zero value inventories, managing special shipping and receiving, checking in returned equipment, generating shipping paperwork, and making independent decisions for equipment allocation. The coordinator also maintains job reporting in Access, interfaces with administration for invoicing, processes equipment requests, documents monthly equipment status, conducts troubleshooting and audits, inspects/redresses equipment, tests equipment for readiness, maintains job information databases, and recommends solutions for equipment problems. The position requires understanding and complying with safety rules and company policies, working independently to the highest quality, and traveling to client sites for analysis and meetings. The role also involves formulating, interpreting, and implementing management policies and operating practices, developing business objectives, and being proficient in all Tool Technician tasks. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in English.
  • Must possess basic math skills.
  • Ability to communicate professionally with people at all levels of the organization and external contacts.
  • Basic computer skills utilizing various programs in Microsoft Office Suite; must possess ability to learn company or industry specific applications.
  • Must be able to occasionally work extended hours, including weekends, as needed.
  • Ability to independently deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write detailed correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Must successfully pass pre- and post- employment drug and alcohol tests per company policy.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 75% of the time.
  • Ability to demonstrate high level of discretion and independent judgment with respect to client matters.
  • Six months to one-year related experience and/or training required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Driver’s License.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred
  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the movement of inventory through the Material Review Board (MRB) by interfacing with Engineering and Operations Manager to ensure levels of lower value and zero value inventories are maximized.
  • Manages special shipping and receiving of equipment to, from, and between customer locations by interfacing with customer locations, Shop Supervisor and Operations Manager.
  • Check in returned equipment and generate shipping paperwork for outgoing shipments.
  • Makes independent decisions for equipment allocation between client districts.
  • Maintains the flow of job reporting by inputting job reports into Access.
  • Interface with Administration and Operations Manager to collect customer information and to ensure timely invoicing, as needed.
  • Processes email and telephone requests for equipment from customers and relays information to customer personnel, sales, and Operations Manager.
  • Document monthly equipment status and discuss possible movement with Operations Manager to maximize fleet efficiency.
  • Conduct equipment troubleshooting and independent customer site and other job-related audits, as needed.
  • Inspect/redress equipment to ensure that it is serviced properly, when necessary.
  • Test and maintain equipment for readiness, when necessary.
  • Populates and maintains database with job information and reports to Operations Manager notable jobs for generation of Case Histories.
  • Receives customer inquiries regarding equipment problems and recommends solutions to Engineering and Operations Manager or sales personnel.
  • Must understand and comply with all safety rules and company policies of Oil States Energy Services.
  • Work assignments carried out independently and to the highest quality level.
  • Travel to client sites to conduct independent analysis of equipment performance and hold client meetings.
  • Possesses the authority to formulate, interpret and implement management policies and operating practices.
  • Independently develop long- and short-term business objectives for expansion into new growth areas.
  • Proficient in all tasks of Tool Technician I, II, II and Lead Tool Technician.
  • Other duties as assigned.
