About The Position

Meritus Health is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Meritus NOW Operations Coordinator to support the delivery of exceptional virtual healthcare services. This role combines clinical, operational, technical, and patient service responsibilities to ensure a seamless experience for both virtual and in-person patient care. The Operations Coordinator serves as a key liaison between patients, providers, clinical teams, support departments, and external healthcare partners. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment, possess excellent communication and multitasking skills, and be passionate about delivering outstanding patient care.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a healthcare environment required.
  • Must be a licensed LPN or certified Medical Assistant (MA).
  • Current Maryland licensure or certification required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent computer proficiency and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Education appropriate to licensure or certification requirements.
  • Basic medical terminology knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with registration, insurance verification, MyChart support, questionnaires, payment collection, and appointment scheduling.
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and provider-directed patient care activities.
  • Support continuity of care through effective communication and care navigation.
  • Review upcoming patient appointments to ensure readiness and appropriateness.
  • Room patients and assist with visit preparation.
  • Manage in-basket and MyChart messages in a timely manner.
  • Perform charge reconciliation and maintain workqueue accuracy.
  • Support efficient virtual and in-person clinical workflows.
  • Communicate with patients through in-person interactions, telephone, email, virtual platforms, and Epic chat.
  • Collaborate with providers, clinical staff, pharmacies, insurance companies, physician practices, and other healthcare partners.
  • Promote a positive, patient-centered healthcare experience.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new team members.
  • Provide guidance on workflows, systems, and operational processes.
  • Participate in departmental initiatives and additional duties as assigned.
