About The Position

We are seeking an Operations Controller to monitor and operate pipeline and industrial facility systems from a centralized control room. This role is responsible for maintaining product integrity, coordinating product movements, responding to abnormal operating conditions, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of pipeline assets while complying with regulatory and company standards. Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently under pressure
  • Ability to adapt to changing operating conditions in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience using Windows-based applications, email, and electronic systems
  • Ability to work a 12-hour modified DuPont schedule
  • Ability to respond to call-outs when required
  • Ability to perform duties at the assigned control room location

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Previous industrial control room or pipeline operations experience
  • Experience working with SCADA systems, product movement scheduling, or emergency response procedures
  • Familiarity with DOT regulations and operating practices within the energy, pipeline, or industrial sectors

Responsibilities

  • Monitor pipeline operations and line integrity through SCADA systems, recognize and respond to abnormal operating conditions, and coordinate emergency response activities in accordance with DOT regulations, company procedures, and the System Integrity Plan (SIP).
  • Recognize and respond to Abnormal Operating Conditions as outlined in DOT Part 195.
  • Respond to mainline leaks and/or ruptures to minimize the amount of petroleum released from the pipe.
  • Review each field alarm received in the Control Center via the SCADA system and respond appropriately per the Operations Control Procedures Manual.
  • Operate and monitor remotely controlled equipment including pumps, valves, meters, additive systems, storage facilities, and supplier locations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely product movement.
  • Execute pumping schedules, track product batches and cleaning pigs, calculate product ETAs and ETDs, monitor storage tank levels, and perform measurement and custody transfer activities.
  • Coordinate with field personnel and customers to support product movements, grade changes, alarm response, equipment repairs, and shift handovers while maintaining accurate operating records and communications.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, Operational Qualification (OQ) requirements, safety programs, and DOT covered functions, responding appropriately to hazardous and emergency situations where safe operation is critical.
