Mission Technologies - A division of HII currently has an opportunity for an Operations Conductor for the Southern California Tactical Training Range (SCTTR) in support of Fleet Operations. The individual in this position should have expertise in Integrated and Sustainment Phase Training requirements for Naval forces assigned to the Commander U.S. THIRD Fleet and have extensive knowledge and understanding of Undersea Warfare exercise requirements. Prospective candidates should have excellent public speaking and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • 2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field or 0 years experience with Masters in related field or High School Diploma or equivalent and 6 years relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in analysis of USW exercise operations.
  • Extensive experience in acoustics, sonar, radar, or in-water tracking systems.
  • Extensive experience in observation and analysis of test operations where ship and aircraft control is critical.
  • Active Secret Clearance with the ability to maintain.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Navy Air Incercept Controller or Anti-Submarine Air Controller with current qualifications within two years, or actively engaged in air control within the last two years is desired.
  • Knowledge of Navy operational and administrative procedures and directives.
  • Experience with LINK-16 and/or LVC operations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate and control the activity of all participants in the assigned exercise.
  • Control the recovery and launch of all mobile USW targets employed on the Southern California Tactical Training Range (SCTTR).
  • Control the recovery of all aerial and surface assets utilized for recovery of torpedoes.
  • Ensure surveillance assets are utilized efficiently, and exercise safety is observed including operating the surveillance radar system.
  • Has a console for communicating with all participants on the Southern California Tactical Training Range (SCTTR) as well as all SCTTR staff members.
  • Operate assigned equipment and maintain a Tactical Log.
  • Support exercises from the Exercise Control Facility on NAS North Island.
  • As directed by the Exercise Coordinator, the OC will assist in event planning or briefing.
