This role involves maintaining an understanding of WMS, WCS, and IT integration to ensure effective and efficient operations. The associate will follow automated processes, troubleshoot electric mechanical controls, and optimize existing automated material handling equipment. A key part of the role is to optimize/troubleshoot and understand Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs, and work closely with vendors to investigate and integrate solutions. The position requires the ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. The associate will monitor the Warehouse Control System (WCS) interface for potential faults, clear machine faults according to SOPs, and may need to physically move product to resolve issues. Utilizing the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and WCS to troubleshoot errors related to the automated warehouse is also a responsibility. The role includes monitoring WCS for inventory comingling and initiating routines to consolidate pallets, as well as monitoring the number of missions created to ensure workload completion and advising shift supervisors of potential conflicts. The associate will escalate errors and system outages, acting as a liaison between operations, automation providers, and specialists to resolve issues. Ensuring data integrity in WMS and WCS for operational execution, performing preventative maintenance on automation equipment, and participating in continuous improvement teams on warehouse automation are also key duties. The role requires seeking out areas for automated process improvements and implementing corrective actions, while maintaining a high focus on excellent customer service.
