About The Position
Tłı̨chǫ Retail Operations (TRO), proudly 100% Indigenous-owned by the Tłı̨chǫ Investment Corporation (TIC), operates retail stores and petroleum services across the Tłı̨chǫ communities of Whatì, Gamètì, and Wekweètì, NT. We are currently seeking an Operations Attendant for a temporary position based in the community of Gamètì, NT. This is a community-based role, offering the opportunity to contribute to a vital local service while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment. Reporting to the Community Operations Manager, the Operations Attendant plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the Gamètì retail store. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, and enjoys providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.
Requirements
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage time effectively
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 kg
- Commitment to honesty, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required
Nice To Haves
- Previous retail or cashier experience is an asset
- Ability to speak and understand the Tłı̨chǫ language is a strong asset
- Class 3 with air brakes is an asset
Responsibilities
- Provide friendly and helpful customer service to all store visitors
- Operate the Point-of-Sale system to process purchases, returns, and payments (cash, debit, credit)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment (sweeping, mopping, dusting, garbage removal, cleaning coolers/freezers)
- Stock shelves, price merchandise, and rotate inventory
- Assist customers with purchases, including bagging groceries
- Perform daily cash counts and maintain accurate records
- Support onboarding and training of new team members
- Pick up and transport freight from the airport when required
- Perform other related duties as required
