About The Position

The Institute of Cannabis Research (ICR) at Colorado State University Pueblo is seeking an Operations Assistant to manage marketing and communications activities, coordinate day-to-day operational activities, and support the planning and execution of events, including the annual conference. This role involves serving as a primary point of contact for the ICR Board, supervising student employees, and collaborating with various partners to promote ICR programs and initiatives. The position is on-site at the Pueblo Campus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Evidence of effective written communication skills
  • 1 year in a position supporting the operation of a program
  • Experience managing internal and external office/ program/ professional communications
  • Experience managing internal and external contracting and agreement processes

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Institute's marketing and communications activities, including website content, newsletters, email communications, infographics, annual reports, and other communication materials.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement the ICR marketing and website plan to support organizational goals and priorities.
  • Coordinate communications and marketing efforts with campus partners at CSU and external partners to ensure consistent messaging and effective outreach.
  • Supervise and provide direction to student employees supporting marketing, communications, and website activities.
  • Develop, organize, and maintain digital and print communications to effectively promote ICR programs, initiatives, and activities.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operational activities supporting ICR programs and initiatives.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for the ICR Board, responding to inquiries and facilitating communication with board members and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate logistics, scheduling, communications, and outreach activities related to ICR Board meetings and events.
  • Prepare agendas, meeting materials, and other documentation to support ICR Board meetings.
  • Record, prepare, and distribute meeting minutes and maintain appropriate records of Board activities and decisions.
  • Coordinate and support the planning and execution of the annual conference and other ICR events, including developing contracts, coordinating event logistics, processing honoraria, managing registration for ICR staff and Board members, coordinating travel reimbursements and reservations, and arranging catering and other event services.
  • Support special initiatives and projects as assigned by the Director, which may include website migration, advancement initiatives, and Board strategic planning.
  • Collaborate with the Director and Strategic Partnership and Outreach Specialist to coordinate organizational partnerships and support planning and execution of the annual roundtable.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of the university and ICR operations, which may include providing operational support for ICR meetings, activities, and initiatives.
