About The Position

Flexport is building a talent community for future Operations Associate opportunities within its growing Global Operations team. This team is responsible for end-to-end management of customer supply chains, focusing on customer satisfaction, partner management, and leveraging technology for process automation. The Global Operations Associate will own and execute the movement of global shipments within a regional network, including LCL/FCL, ocean imports, and air imports/exports. The role emphasizes delivering a first-class customer experience through quality and on-time performance. As a new member of the North American Operations group, you will immerse yourself in company culture and master world-class operations. This role offers potential for international experience, rapid career growth, and the chance to be a founding team member in new markets as Flexport expands.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, supply chain, ocean carrier operations, or consulting (ocean freight knowledge is a plus)
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Able to adapt to new technology and can thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective time management - be able to properly prioritize and manage a large volume of tasks

  • Ability to effectively seek and receive feedback
  • Effective communication both verbally and in writing in client facing interactions

Responsibilities

  • Be the "front line" to ensure the highest standard of Flexport quality: shipments move on-time and exceptions are handled appropriately.
  • Be responsible for ensuring your work satisfies internal KPIs and SLAs that demonstrate quality delivery.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOP)
  • Own the client experience; solving client issues quickly and ensuring smooth operations at origin and destination, escalating issues as needed.
  • Seamlessly coordinate day-to-day logistics operations with internal and external partners such as steamship lines, air carriers, intermodal and drayage vendors, customs, trade lane management, warehousing, transloading, trucking, and the air operations team.
  • Execute the end-to-end movement of freight shipments within a regional network (both imports and exports), including intermodal movements.
  • Assist the shipments managed by partners as we drive partner autonomy (if applicable in a given region).
  • Quote and invoice client shipments with responsibility to their P&L
  • Participate in QBR and MBR presentation prep as well as hold client operational calls when deemed necessary
