About The Position

The Operations Associate supports the Legal Operations Department by facilitating communication between operations and legal teams, handling client escalations, coordinating legal training, and ensuring legal consistency across teams. This role serves as the link between attorneys and operations, maintaining scripts and legal resources, triage client inquiries, and ensuring firm policies and USCIS guidance are consistently applied. The Operations Associate also serves as a legal subject matter expert (SME) for projects within the operations area they support. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in immigration law, be goal-oriented, able to follow detailed instructions, and motivated to help our clients obtain documents and stay united with their families. Requirements

  • J.D. degree from an ABA-approved law school
  • Active member in good standing of a state bar
  • Prior immigration experience required
  • 3-6+ years of immigration experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
  • Experience using a case management software system preferred
  • Support mission of helping people currently living in America obtain their documents and stay together with their family
  • Computer skills (Typing - MS Word and MS Excel, Document Management-DropBox, Email - MS Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Handle client escalations independently and escalate questions to legal leadership following Standard Operations Procedures and when firm risk is identified.
  • Escalate firm risk and policy-related questions to legal leadership for review and resolution.
  • Ensure scripts, FAQs, and client communication process are documented, current and accurate.
  • Surface refund or contract issues to the appropriate owners and route sensitive client escalations appropriately.
  • Partner with Staff Attorneys to maintain up-to-date legal guidance. Capture and document changes to USCIS policy and firm standards within workflows, training materials, and knowledge bases.
  • Meet established goals while supporting firmwide operational priorities.
  • Coordinate legal training. Reinforce existing training, refreshers, and ensure consistent application of new guidance across operational teams.
  • Perform legal research on immigration law topic.
  • Serve as the Legal SME for operational projects, supporting process mapping, policy alignment, and implementation within assigned teams.
  • Support process documentation and continuous improvement projects within the department.
