About The Position

Coordinate the day-to-day activities of employees and remove obstacles (process, policy, or physical) that restrict safe, efficient production. Develop teams and implement and monitor processes for a production area. Ensure the safety of your team, the quality of your processes, improve uptime by maintenance of assets, and manage capacity to achieve on-time delivery and increase productivity. Drive continuous improvement and enhance team spirit through the application of lean tools.

Requirements

  • Operations or engineering degree is preferred. Relevant experience and equivalent knowledge may be considered.
  • Prefer 5 to 15 years supervisory experience in a print production environment.
  • Experience should include managing digital printing, screen printing, die cutting, lamination, finishing, converting equipment, shipping, receiving and warehouse management.
  • Familiarity with safety programs, quality processes, production scheduling, and component drawings/routings.
  • Successful application of Lean tools such as VSM, CCF, mistake proofing, visual management, A3 problem solving.
  • Quality issue problem solving that includes: 5Y’s, A3 problem solving, process mapping.
  • Able to develop teams, motivate others and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Implementation of Lean principles with results.
  • Attention to detail and disciplined.
  • Able to manage their calendar and balance multiple objectives.
  • Process oriented (map a process, problem solving to root cause, implement an action plan).
  • Demonstrated ability to follow through on commitments.
  • Computer skills (MS office, MRP software, payroll).
  • Coordinate your work team to meet customer requirements.
  • Resolve employee issues, guided by company and department policy.
  • Manage an expense budget for maintenance, supplies, and support material.
  • With your peers and team determine priorities for continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of sales and production figures (units and dollars), strategic plans, and technical product and process information.

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce lean vision and DuraMark values.
  • Provide coaching to group leaders to help them become technically competent while also improving their capability to coach and motivate their team members (people leadership skills).
  • Take care of your team (payroll, safety audits, tiered meetings, recognition, and discipline).
  • Lead the tier 2 meeting for the area, attend and report out in the tier 3 meeting with the GM/Site Leader.
  • Deliver to your customer (review schedules, coordinate teams, document issues and collect data for problem solving).
  • Improve your processes (develop solutions based on root cause analysis and implement action plans supported by documentation and training).
  • Participate in the site-wide continuous improvement process by ensuring that kaizen events are held in your area on a regular basis.
  • Participate in meetings with the plant management team to establish goals and priorities, improve alignment, communication, and coordination of resources.
  • Audit your processes (equipment maintenance, standard work, safety and quality procedures, product routings and BOM, and material flow).
  • Manage your agenda, follow up on commitments, and prepare for other activities.
