About The Position

This role is responsible for the operation and support of an extrusion press, ensuring the production of aluminum products that meet customer specifications. The position involves working from schedules, production orders, prints, and specifications, verifying materials, and operating complex control panels. The individual will make adjustments to equipment, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to quality control and process improvement. The role requires the ability to work in a non-air-conditioned environment, adapt to changing job functions, and maintain a safe and clean work area. Overtime, including weekends, may be required.

Requirements

Experience in Operations and Support - Operations and Production (Extrusion).
Ability to work in a non air-conditioned shop environment.
Ability to work in a team environment reacting to production conditions and routinely changing job functions.
Ability to work overtime including weekends.
Ability to keep up with normal production requirements while using proper body mechanics and working in a safe manner.
Ability to perform all duties within limitation of the standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality and productivity requirements.
Ability to work in a team environment changing job function thru out a shift.
Ability to work in an open-air facility hot/cold.
Ability to perform duties to set up, adjust, and operate an aluminum extrusion press, quality lab, drive a lift-truck and its peripherals to extrude aluminum in specified products, determining appropriate settings and operational sequences, within the limitations of standard methods and procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot press operation in areas relating to manufacturing problem resolution and process improvement, working within the limits of established policies.

Responsibilities

Work from schedules, production orders, prints, and specifications.
Verify alloy and length of billet and set heater controls to proper specifications.
Operate the press, including multifunction operation of multiple control panels in sequence.
Make adjustments to the press and peripheral equipment to set up product layout guides and tooling.
Set and adjust parameters to ensure material meets customer specifications.
Perform or assist with any departmental operations as required or directed to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions.
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Ensure safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility.
Assist in process examination and quality documentation, determine causes for problems, perform root cause analysis, and recommend solutions.
Follow up to help establish product & customer issues.
Assist in Press Equipment validations, safety and quality audits.
Work in a non air-conditioned shop environment (hot in the summer, cold in the winter).
Work in a team environment reacting to production conditions and routinely changing job functions.
Work overtime including weekends; scheduled day off could fluctuate.
Keep up with normal production requirements while using proper body mechanics and working in a safe manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned to maintain work flow or respond to emergency conditions.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition in accordance with 5 S standards.
Perform all duties within the limitation of standard methods and procedures, and in accordance with strict adherence to HSE, quality, and productivity requirements.
Perform functions to provide manufacturing production with sufficient operation of the extrusion press.
Work in an open-air facility (hot/cold).
Set up, adjust, and operate an aluminum extrusion press, quality lab, and drive a lift-truck and its peripherals to extrude aluminum in specified products, determining appropriate settings and operational sequences, within the limitations of standard methods and procedures.
