About The Position

Our Construction Equipment Group is seeking a highly organized, results-driven Operations and Service Manager to support our Traverse City location. This role will oversee daily branch operations across service, parts, and rental functions while driving performance, efficiency, and a strong team culture. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to: Oversee daily branch operations across service, parts, and rental departments Supervise the operation of the service department and ensure efficient workflow Foster a positive customer and employee relations atmosphere Lead, coach, and develop team members, including monitoring training progress Review and analyze department data to meet sales, profit, and operational goals Manage KPIs including technician efficiency, parts turns, rental utilization, and customer satisfaction Implement, monitor, and refine processes to improve efficiency and productivity Process and review work orders, invoicing, and customer quotes Oversee payroll entry and audit for accuracy Purchase order acquisition and coordination Monitor work in progress and ensure timely completion Maintain condition of service vehicles and facility Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulations Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance branch performance Incorporate company guiding principles into daily activities Perform other duties as assigned Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

Requirements

  • 3–5+ years of management experience in service, operations, or branch leadership preferred
  • Experience in heavy equipment, automotive, construction, or related industries preferred
  • Strong organizational and process management skills
  • Proven ability to successfully manage and develop employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer relations and people skills
  • Solid understanding of service workflows, parts inventory, and rental operations
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and business systems (ERP/CRM preferred)
  • High-level problem-solving and reasoning ability
  • Intermediate mathematical skills including calculations, percentages, and basic algebra/geometry
