About The Position

The Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Manager provides leadership for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of Roseton Power Plant’s generation equipment and systems. This role oversees operational performance, maintenance and outage strategies, workforce development, safety and regulatory compliance, and cost management. The O&M Manager drives continuous improvement to enhance plant reliability, availability, efficiency, and long-term performance.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent power generation, industrial, technical, or military experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Extensive experience in power plant operations and maintenance, preferably within a large steam-electric generating facility, with responsibility for the safe, reliable, and efficient performance of generation equipment and plant systems.
  • Strong technical knowledge of power generation equipment and systems, including boilers, steam turbines, generators, mechanical and electrical systems, controls, and balance-of-plant equipment, with the ability to support troubleshooting and operational decision-making.
  • Proven capability managing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, planned and forced outages, equipment reliability initiatives, and maintenance planning and execution.
  • Ability to analyze plant and equipment performance, identify trends and recurring issues, and implement improvements that enhance reliability, availability, efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Demonstrated safety leadership with knowledge of safe work practices, LOTO, and applicable OSHA, company, and facility requirements.
  • Working knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements applicable to power generation facilities, including compliance, reporting, and audit readiness.
  • Effective leadership and development of Operations and Maintenance personnel through work direction, coaching, training, and performance management.
  • Experience managing budgets, contractors, procurement, and vendor relationships; proficiency with CMMS and Microsoft Office applications; and strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card or ability to obtain one upon hire.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver’s license and ensure it remains in good standing at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Roseton’s power generation equipment, including boilers, steam turbines, generators, and auxiliary and balance-of-plant systems.
  • Monitor plant performance, equipment condition, alarms, trends, and operational data to identify issues, minimize downtime, improve efficiency, and optimize overall plant performance.
  • Develop short- and long-term operational plans that support generation requirements, equipment reliability and availability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Plan and manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for mechanical, electrical, and control systems, providing technical guidance to improve equipment reliability and availability.
  • Support planned and forced outage activities by developing work strategies, coordinating resources, and ensuring maintenance and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
  • Maintain and report equipment and maintenance performance data, including runtime, downtime, maintenance costs, manpower, and completed work, to support planning, audits, and management decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and health requirements, including LOTO, emissions, wastewater, and applicable OSHA standards, while identifying and mitigating operational and equipment risks and supporting emergency preparedness.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop Operations and Maintenance personnel through work direction, pre-job briefings, coaching, training, performance management, and employee development.
  • Support operating and capital budgets, cost control, procurement, and coordination with vendors, contractors, utility providers, and internal resources to achieve plant objectives.
  • Develop, review, and maintain operating and maintenance procedures to promote safe, consistent, and effective work practices and regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager in support of safe, reliable plant operations and overall facility performance.
