About The Position

This is an unpaid fellowship through the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program. The fellow selected for this role will not receive compensation or benefits from GDIT and will not be an employee, agent or contractor of GDIT but rather will remain an employee of the DoW and will receive compensation and benefits through the DoW. Through the Department of War (DoW) SkillBridge Program, GDIT offers transitioning service members the opportunity to gain hands‑on training and professional experience as an Operations Analyst Technician Fellow, supporting ARMA Global’s mission‑critical analytical, identity data, and force protection operations in Fayetteville, NC. The Fellow will receive training in analytical tradecraft, data interpretation, operational risk identification, communication link analysis, structured research, emerging technology evaluation, and identity data management. Working alongside experienced analysts, the participant will learn how analytical support is executed across high‑priority ARMA mission sets, with exposure to industry analysis, public‑record‑based analytics, cyber‑related policy considerations, and operational planning cycles that support Special Operations customers. This Fellowship is designed to build foundational readiness for future employment as a full‑time Operations Analyst Technician.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required.
  • 4+ years of related Military experience.
  • Experience conducting online research, operational risk assessments, and data‑driven analysis.
  • Understanding of identity data, operational threats, and mitigation strategies.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with knowledge management, public‑record research, and analysis of vulnerabilities and threats.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • On‑site attendance at customer location in Fayetteville, NC (Ft Bragg).
  • Fellowship duration aligned with DoW SkillBridge guidelines.
  • Has served at least 180 days on active duty
  • Can participate within the last 6 months of separation or retirement
  • Will receive an honorable discharge
  • Has taken any service TAP/TGPS
  • Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months
  • Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoW SkillBridge Program prior to start of the fellowship.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with commercial identity applications, data flow, and data analytics is highly beneficial.
  • Special Operations background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train on conducting industry analysis and analytical research using social media, Internet sources, commercial databases, and open‑source tools to support mission‑driven products.
  • Support development of due diligence packets, consumer data portfolios, and public‑record‑based analysis under supervision.
  • Participate in gathering, analyzing, and evaluating data in support of force protection and identity data management activities.
  • Learn to perform link analysis on existing and emerging networks to identify vulnerabilities, access vectors, and operational risks.
  • Assist in identifying communication links and technical opportunities relevant to future technical collection and targeting.
  • Support cross‑disciplinary collaboration with partner organizations to produce reliable analytical outputs.
  • Gain exposure to emerging technologies, data services, and tools relevant to identity analysis and operational support.
  • Assist in developing mitigation recommendations addressing risks, vulnerabilities, and identified threat vectors.
  • Support preparation of threat and trend assessments using structured methodologies and approved analytic practices.
  • Participate in special projects, operational integration tasks, and additional mission activities as training progresses.
  • Contribute to the refinement of analytical procedures and knowledge management practices as mission requirements evolve.
  • Learn to coordinate input and participation in planning efforts, mirroring the processes used by full‑time analysts.
  • Gain exposure to legal and policy considerations related to identity data, information handling, and cyber‑related mission support.
