About The Position

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company. Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts. Interns may work within the skills-based tracks of Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical based degree programs. This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week). Interns may reside in either a technical or non-technical area. Development workshops are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment. Housing is not provided as part of our program. The Operations Analyst Intern will support the Population Health Enterprise (PHE) Operations & Optimization team in advancing strategic initiatives focused on healthcare affordability, operational excellence, process improvement, performance reporting, and organizational effectiveness. The intern will gain hands-on experience working with operational leaders, data analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders while contributing to projects that directly impact quality, cost, and member outcomes. The internship is designed to provide exposure to healthcare operations, business intelligence, analytics, process improvement methodologies, executive reporting, and enterprise project management.

Requirements

High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
Must be in good academic standing.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail changing environment and deliver high-quality work product.
Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.
Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams as needed.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Business or Data Analytics, Management Information Systems (MIS), Operations & Supply Chain Management, Project Management or similar program(s)
Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis), Power BI, Tableau, or other data visualization tools.
Basic data management and reporting.

Creating presentations and executive summaries.

Responsibilities

Works with a mentor and supports key strategic projects.
Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects.
Creates and delivers presentations at completion of internship.
