About The Position

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company. Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts. Intern specific duties will vary by assignment, but will include coordinating and verifying audit information sent to the BCBSA in support of the FEP IPA audit, collecting data, verifying accuracy and compliance, and verifying data being submitted by other Operations Auditors. Interns will also learn and participate in the Dental Claims audit, forward errors to the Operational area, respond to questions on any findings, and compile month-end data. Interns will sit in on all Ops Audit meetings where potential findings are reviewed and feedback is solicited. Interns will work with a mentor and support key strategic projects, completing work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications. They will perform a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects and create and deliver presentations at the completion of the internship. Interns will consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs. Maintaining confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with company policies is expected. Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required. Performs other functions as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail changing environment and deliver high-quality work product.
  • Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
  • Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams as needed.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.
  • Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
  • Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Business & Management (i.e. Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc.); Mathematics & Data Science (i.e. Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, etc.) or similar program(s)
  • Preferred (but not required) experience with: Working knowledge of Excel, strong attention to detail, communication skills, and proficient at working within groups and being able to pivot amongst competing priorities.
