About The Position

This position is located in the Construction Industry Licensing Board, under the Florida Homeowners Construction Recovery Fund (Recovery Fund) work unit and is primarily responsible for processing claims and maintaining claim files.

Requirements

  • Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
  • Knowledge of board functions and licensure procedures.
  • Ability to work independently on recommendations and improvements to program.
  • Ability to understand and apply the Florida Statutes and Florida Administrative Code pertaining to the Florida Homeowners’ Construction Recovery Fund.
  • Knowledge of Versa: Regulation and OnBase.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent education.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years using Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Two or more years’ experience working in a professional office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Performs reviews of claims submitted for payment from the Recovery Fund. Ensures that all requirements for approval of claims are met by the claimant.
  • Proactively communicates with claimants by telephone, written correspondence, and e-mail regarding the status of claims and any deficiencies which must be addressed and corrected.
  • Maintains and updates comprehensive claims files in an organized, chronological and timely manner. Assists in handling mail functions, including receiving, sorting, scanning, and uploading for the board office.
  • Tracks assigned claims and updates the status for assigned claims in the single licensing system (Versa: Regulation) as well as in the agency's document retention management system (OnBase).
  • Scans and indexes claim documents into OnBase and answer incoming telephone calls and handles appropriately.
  • Performs other related duties assigned.
