About The Position

Provide administrative support to the Montreal-East plant, bringing thoroughness and organization in the activities of various departments. Ensure hourly payroll and benefits management; daily liaison in submitting employee issues. Perform regular invoicing tasks and follow up (payable accounts, invoices management, expenses tracking, etc.), and participate in safety initiatives in the plant area. Additionally supporting plant manager in production, inventory and plant forecast administration and reporting.

Requirements

  • Professional College Diploma (DEC – 3 years) or Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Auditing, Accounting, Finance, HR, or related discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of work experience in administration, office management, or accounting.
  • Accounting administration certificates
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office platform and Google Suite
  • Proficiency in SAP and ERP systems is a major asset.
  • Proven skills in administration, office management, and accounting
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Expertise in setting priorities, handling multiple requests, taking initiative, and working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Bilingualism in French and English (written and spoken) is required, as the incumbent must regularly communicate with clients, suppliers, and team members outside Quebec.
  • Flexibility in dealing with hours outside normal business days due to 24/7 site operations (e.g., vessel reception, covering colleague absences).
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safety culture through engagement with employees and subcontractors, assisting in developing and administering safety policies, processes, and regulatory guidelines aimed at zero safety incidents.
  • Execute accounts payable tasks, including purchase requisitions, PO follow-ups, invoice management, account statements, and invoice reception/verification in SAP.
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll closing for plant hourly employees, maintain accurate employee files, and oversee benefits and pension processes via MyLife.
  • Coordinate monthly financial reporting, forecasting tools (MBP), inventory verification audits, and CAPEX expense tracking with plant management.
  • Support production operations by maintaining master data (daily reporting, material recipes, energy consumption factors) and analyzing capital requests with operations and manufacturing teams.
  • Oversee site administration, mail processing, office supplies/equipment, and manage service contracts for uniforms, janitorial services, communications, and site security.
  • Assist suppliers with health and safety updates in the Avetta database.
  • Coordinate fit-for-duty evaluations, PPE distribution, uniform fittings for new hires, and assist in organizing employee social activities.
