About The Position

Killam Apartment REIT, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is one of Canada's largest residential real estate investment trusts, owning, operating, and developing a $5.3 billion portfolio of apartments and manufactured home communities. Killam's strategy to drive value and profitability focuses on three priorities: (1) increase earnings from the existing portfolio; (2) expand the portfolio and diversify geographically through accretive acquisitions, targeting newer properties and dispositions of non-core assets; and (3) develop high-quality properties in its core markets. We are currently searching for an experienced, professional and customer focused Operations Administrator to support our Operations team in Saint John, NB.

Requirements

  • Strong administrative training and background, with over 2 years’ experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft office tools, high level of Excel competency
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment
  • Keen focus on internal and external client satisfaction and process improvement

Nice To Haves

  • Prior property management experience would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Yardi would be an asset or similar capital processing system

Responsibilities

  • Answer and redirect maintenance calls
  • Issue all Purchase Orders for work orders, and help monitor work orders
  • Create change orders
  • Create health and safety PPE orders
  • Track vehicle service
  • Submit mileage for staff as needed
  • Assist with tracking of insurance claims
  • Assist with capex’s
  • Invoicing
  • Other administrative reports and duties as required
