What you’ll do (and why it matters) This isn’t a “close the books and move on” kind of accounting role. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of a growing portfolio of companies across pest control, fleet operations, and real estate —ensuring our data is accurate, our assets are tracked, and our business leaders have the insights they need to make smart decisions. Your work will directly support: Operational readiness (vehicles, properties, assets) Financial reporting accuracy and compliance Smarter capital allocation and cost management Scalable systems and processes as we grow Own the Details That Drive Accuracy Review and reconcile transactions across multiple systems and entities Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account corrections Perform monthly balance sheet and income statement reconciliations Investigate discrepancies and solve root-cause issues—not just symptoms Turn Data Into Reliable Insight Maintain clean, accurate general ledger and cost center reporting Track and allocate asset-related costs (fleet + real estate) Support variance analysis and management reporting Partner with stakeholders to ensure financial clarity across the business Strengthen Controls & Build Better Processes Ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and documentation standards Maintain accounting, asset, and lease data integrity Document workflows and identify automation opportunities Help scale processes as the business grows and evolves Support Real-World Operations Coordinate fleet activities: procurement, upfitting, maintenance, and disposition Manage vehicle licensing, registration, and compliance (multi-state) Support lease and property documentation and administration Ensure assets and leases are accurately recorded and audit-ready Keep Cash and Compliance in Check Perform bank reconciliations and support cash forecasting Monitor cash flow and ensure compliance with financial institutions Prepare schedules and documentation for external accounting partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, external data)
  • Comfort working across accounting systems and tools (Sage, Bill.com, or similar)
  • A sharp eye for detail and a passion for problem-solving
  • Takes ownership and follows through—no dropped balls
  • Communicates clearly, proactively, and often
  • Sees inefficiencies and fixes them (not just flags them)
  • Can operate independently but thrives as part of a team
  • Enjoys building structure where it doesn’t yet exist

Nice To Haves

  • CPA (or working toward one)
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar systems
  • A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, can-do attitude
