Candidates hired will begin their first 2.5 years at Pratt & Whitney as part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP). This program consists of three rotations that are 12 months - 9 months - 9 months in duration and typically occur in three distinct disciplines within the hiring department. The intent of our EDP is to offer breadth & depth in various technical experiences through challenging positions available in our organizations. This program will help expand your professional and technical competencies that will serve as the foundation for exceptional contributions that you will make at Pratt & Whitney.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quantitative safety risk assessments on gas turbine propulsion system flight safety hazards
  • Develop quantitative models blending engineering insights and statistical methods to determine required actions
  • Coordinate with P&W technical experts to identify and document engine event sequences that could hazard the aircraft, producing aircraft hazard assessments, and manage these hazards within the PW Safety Issue Management Process
  • Review and categorize part discrepancy modes as they are identified by customers
  • Produce reports detailing key reliability metrics and trends
  • Produce detailed documents and reports for internal and external customers
  • Contribute to team responsible for sustaining world class safety and reliability of our product
