Requirements

• Working toward bachelor's degree in related field
• College Level Math Skills.
• Advanced Computer Skills: Ability to perform the most complex computer tasks and operate various computer programs.
• Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
• High Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where there is only limited standardization. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions that may be provided in various forms.
• Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.
• Ability to work independently and/or part of a team.
• Ability to display original thinking and creativity.
• Ability to hold oneself in a professional manner.
• Must have the ability to climb multiple flights of stairs, work at various heights above the ground, stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, twist, lift, climb, push and pull to evaluate equipment in a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Learning about mining, and the limestone manufacturing process and environment.
• Assisting with the planning and implementation of plant lean events (5S audits, Kaizens, Problem Solving, etc.).
• Follow up with area department managers and planners on Newspaper item work and support plant PDCA (Plan, Do, Check, and Act) activities.
• Supporting plant-wide visual management projects.
• Assist with Standard Work document reviews across all departments and upload revisions / updates using ZenQMS, the plants quality management system.
• Help with quarter OE plant assessments and learn the reporting process.
• Interacting and helping departmental teams and areas of the business with tasks and projects, and other duties as assigned.
• Understands and/or actively participates in the implementation of sustainable improvement processes, such as 5S, Kaizen, Daily Management Control, Standard Work and Problem Solving.
