About The Position

We are actively recruiting candidates to participate in our 2026 On-site Internship program. This position is 12 weeks in length and will immerse you in the culture and operations of Lonza Vacaville. The internship begins in May/June and ends in August. Potential interns must be able to commit to at least 40 hours per week throughout the summer. As an Operational Excellence Intern here at Lonza, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and contribute to various projects within our pharmaceutical manufacturing site and Operational Excellence team. You will work closely with experienced professionals and learn about optimizing manufacturing operations, improving process efficiency, and driving operational excellence using the Lonza Business Management System (LBMS). This internship will give you valuable insights into lean manufacturing and process improvement disciplines in the real-world and help you develop essential skills for your future career. What you will get: The full-time hourly rate for this position is expected to range between $26 -$38. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and job-related knowledge. What you will do: Assist in process improvement projects to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reduce waste. Support the implementation of lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and ensure product quality. Gain exposure to various manufacturing technologies and equipment. Participate in data analysis and problem-solving activities and Support Value Stream Mapping Events. Contribute to the development of training materials and supporting training on Lean methodologies, kaizen events, and Lean White/Yellow Belt Trainings Support Lean Manufacturing Project Support teams with Huddles, KPIs and Fabriq Board deployment What we are looking for: Completion of junior year (typically 90 credits) towards a B.S. degree in a related field Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (out of 4) required Must currently be enrolled in BS or MS Academic Program Problem solving and team collaboration Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety Ability to follow procedures and guidance in a regulated environment Work Environment This job position involves working in a laboratory setting with potential hazardous chemicals and other laboratory related hazards.
