About The Position

You will be the Operations Excellence Engineer for the MFC LSS Organization. Our team is responsible for driving process improvement, increasing value delivery, and supporting strategic initiatives. As the Operations Excellence Engineer you will be responsible for applying Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to solve complex, cross‑functional problems and to deploy to any business area to enhance processes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline.
5+ years of progressive experience in process improvement, operations engineering, or consulting roles within a large, complex organization (defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or similar)
Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (or higher) OR ability to apply Lean Six Sigma Black Belt skills and techniques with demonstrable project leadership and documented results (e.g., $MM savings, % reduction in lead time)
Proven track record of acting as a consultant—designing problem‑solving approaches, facilitating workshops, and delivering actionable recommendations to senior executives
Ability to influence without direct authority; strong stakeholder management across diverse functional groups
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance, therefore must be a US Citizen
Willingness to travel 80-100%

Strong quantitative skills; proficiency with statistical software (Minitab, JMP) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).

Responsibilities

Embed within functional teams to assess, prioritize, and execute improvement opportunities.
Deploy to suppliers and sites to eliminate waste and drive sustainable solutions.
Apply Lean/Six Sigma tools such as 6S, Standard Work, Visual Management, FMEA, and Control Charts to identify root causes.
Define KPIs, track metrics, and deliver quantified results including cost savings and cycle‑time reductions.
Prepare executive briefings and dashboards that translate technical findings into strategic business language.
