Operational Analysis System Engineer

Centrus Global•Piketon, OH

About The Position

Turn operational data into operational decisions. The Operations Analysis System Engineer uses real-time and historical process data to assess the performance of centrifuges, cascades, and supporting systems and investigate unusual operating conditions. The role works closely with Operations, Engineering, and Nuclear Material Controls & Accountability to develop analyses, calculations, models, test plans, and engineering evaluations that support safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The engineer serves as a technical subject matter expert for the Area Control Room, supporting troubleshooting of transient conditions, cascade performance trending, operator training, and practical interpretation of complex data. The position also supports feed and withdrawal systems, operational performance analysis, and nuclear material accountability activities. The successful candidate must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Q security clearance. The role is incentive eligible, with an estimated starting base salary range of $65,555–$109,259.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, data science, mathematics, physics, computer science, or a related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of experience in engineering, operations analysis, data analysis, or a similar technical role.
  • Experience analyzing technical, industrial, manufacturing, or process data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and at least one analytical or programming tool such as Python, MATLAB, or PI Vision.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Q-level security clearance.
  • Must complete required pre-employment background checks and drug testing; employees subject to the clearance requirement may also be subject to random and incident- or suspicion-based drug testing.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 5 years of experience in nuclear, industrial, manufacturing, or process operations.
  • Experience with process historians or real-time operational data, preferably PI Vision.
  • Experience with statistical analysis, modeling, reliability analysis, or equipment troubleshooting.
  • Experience developing engineering calculations, test plans, or technical evaluations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze real-time and historical instrument and process data to monitor centrifuge and cascade performance, reliability, and condition.
  • Develop and maintain engineering evaluations, calculations, models, spreadsheets, code, and data-analysis tools.
  • Apply statistical and analytical methods to identify trends, troubleshoot equipment issues, and support cascade modeling.
  • Support feed and withdrawal systems and analyze operational performance and transient conditions.
  • Perform nuclear material accountability analyses, including weighted-average assay, active inventory, and material diversion detection calculations.
  • Serve as a technical subject matter expert for Operations and Area Control Room personnel.
  • Develop and execute test plans and support operations procedure reviews.
  • Use Excel, PI Vision, MATLAB, Python, and other data-analysis technologies to turn operational data into actionable insights.
