This role focuses on the reconciliation of assigned General Ledger (GL) accounts and Demand Deposit Accounts (DDAs) in a timely and accurate manner. The associate will identify out-of-balance conditions and unusual or aged items within their assigned accounts, conduct research on complex issues, and participate in various projects. The primary responsibilities include ensuring accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP through timely reconciliation and reporting of portfolio activity to Finance, Audit, and SOX. The role involves gathering and researching data for routine accounting reports, performing problem resolution to identify and escalate issues, and researching aged items and system outages. Communication with internal cross-functional areas, business partners, and investors is key to resolving inquiries. The associate will also update procedures as processes or accounting requirements change, participate in new business initiatives, and mentor less experienced staff. Adherence to established policies, procedures, Corporate Risk policies, compliance/operational risk controls, and M&T internal control standards is essential. The position also requires completing other related duties as assigned.
