About The Position

The Operation Supervisor supports the processes of the Operations department, responsible for planning and executing daily and weekly activities. This role ensures labor activities are completed timely and according to processes and procedures, meeting all regulatory requirements. The supervisor leads teams of employees across various activities, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in line with Syngenta HSES regulations.

Requirements

  • Active knowledge of Horticulture fundamentals; basic crop requirements such as moisture, light, soil conditions and fertility.
  • Competent work skills with Microsoft Suite of Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access).
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish fluency and or French (Creole) is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to breakdowns within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow to Management.
  • Plan and coordinate all daily, weekly and planned labor activities for all of the Operations team (including 3rd party labor requirements).
  • Includes all activities associated with; stock maintenance, product storage, stock discards and order processing (retrieval, packing and order assembly) shipping activities.
  • Manage all quality assurance programs with the operations team.
  • Manage and maintain KPI’s.
  • Manage staff to ensure that performance standards are met and that all information is accurate and up to date.
  • Responsible for the reporting of KPI information to senior management, supervisors and leaders.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all HSE standards, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for the management (creation and modification) of W.O.W.s’ associated with their area of responsibility.
  • Ensuring that all procedures and processes are accurate and up to date.
