About The Position

The Operating Room Technician Part-Time in Labor-Delivery will function as a Scrub Assistant during general surgeries. This role involves setting up Operating Rooms with sterile instruments and surgical supplies, and assisting with the care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and unsterile equipment, instruments, and supplies. The technician will also provide direct patient care within the scope of practice to ensure the implementation of the Plan of Care and communicate pertinent patient status information to the Registered Nurse.

Requirements

Graduate of a Surgical Technical Program, an accredited Practical School of Nursing, equivalent training or successful completion of an orientation program.
Ability to work on call under direction of the RN.
BLS administration required.

Responsibilities

Function as a Scrub Assistant during general surgeries.
Set up Operating Rooms with sterile instruments and surgical supplies.
Assist with the care, preparation, and maintenance of sterile and unsterile equipment, instruments and supplies.
Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice to ensure implementation of the Plan of Care and communicating information pertinent to the patient's status to Registered Nurse.
