About The Position
Worldwide Medical Staffing is seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a travel nursing opportunity at Gallup Indian Medical Center in Gallup, New Mexico. This is a 13-week contract with an extension opportunity available. The role involves providing direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures, assessing and planning patient care, collaborating with surgical teams, maintaining a sterile environment, preparing operating rooms, monitoring patients, and responding to emergencies.
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in any U.S. state.
- Recent Operating Room nursing experience preferred.
- Strong clinical, communication, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
- BLS and other certifications as required by the facility.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and equipment for surgical procedures.
- Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process and document care accurately.
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and changes in patient condition.
