About The Position
Seeking an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse to join a busy surgical services department within an acute care hospital. The ideal candidate will have strong perioperative nursing skills and be comfortable participating in an on-call rotation to support surgical services. This is a 13-week assignment with a patient ratio of 1:1. First-time travelers are accepted, and weekend requirements are limited to scheduled call coverage. Approximately 4-6 call shifts are expected within a 6-week period. Weekday call hours are 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM, and weekend call hours are 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM. Block scheduling may be available at the manager's discretion. Guaranteed hours are provided, though the facility may call off one shift per two-week pay period.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse License
- BCLS Certification
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room experience
- Strong knowledge of perioperative nursing practices and surgical procedures

Responsibilities
- Provide direct perioperative nursing care for surgical patients
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure appropriate surgical supplies and equipment are available
- Maintain sterile technique and patient safety throughout procedures
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical team members
- Monitor patients during the intraoperative phase and assist with patient transitions
- Participate in the on-call rotation as required
