Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license from any U.S. state or territory
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
  • Experience circulating in the operating room required
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
  • Required immunizations must be current

Nice To Haves

  • PACU/Post-Anesthesia Care Unit experience preferred
  • scrub experience preferred (if applicable)
  • Previous Indian Health Service (IHS) experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room, equipment, instruments, and sterile field.
  • Perform circulating nurse duties and/or scrub responsibilities based on experience and departmental needs.
  • Assist surgeons and anesthesia providers during surgical procedures.
  • Monitor patients throughout the perioperative process and respond to changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain strict sterile technique and adhere to infection prevention and patient safety standards.
  • Accurately document patient care in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other members of the surgical team to deliver outstanding patient care.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and respond to callback assignments as required.
