About The Position

Responsible for the provision and coordination of nursing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other standards established by profession/professional groups, regulating bodies/agents. Nursing care will be delivered in accordance with ECU Health and entity specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care/practice. This includes the collection and analysis of assessment data, identification of expected outcomes, and development of a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and other interdisciplinary team members. The role involves identifying interventions to attain expected outcomes, implementing them, evaluating patient/family progress, and documenting the process, with sensitivity to age-specific and unique needs. The position also promotes and evaluates the effective functioning of the health care team, collaborates to meet patient/family needs, and delegates tasks as appropriate and governed by the NC Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Current North Carolina Registered Nurse license or licensure to practice in a participating Nurse Licensure Compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support is required.
  • Must be able to report within 30 minutes.
  • Must take call one night per week (15:00 - 07:00) and approximately 1 weekend a month (Friday 15:00 - Monday 07:00).

  • Collaborate with health care team members to meet the identified needs of the patient/family throughout the episode of care.
  • Delegate tasks and activities as appropriate and governed by NC Nurse Practice Act.
