About The Position
A large Level I Trauma Center in Kansas City is seeking experienced Operating Room Registered Nurses (OR RNs) to join a high-acuity surgical services team supporting a broad range of specialty procedures within a fast-paced perioperative environment. This role is ideal for OR nurses who thrive in collaborative surgical settings, value predictable scheduling flexibility, and want exposure to complex surgical cases within a major acute care hospital system. Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year of recent OR RN experience
- Scrub and circulating experience
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire
- Strong critical thinking and surgical workflow management skills

- Experience within trauma or high-volume surgical programs
- Strong adaptability within fast-paced perioperative environments
- Prior experience across multiple surgical specialties
Responsibilities
- Assess and prepare patients prior to surgical procedures
- Provide perioperative education and support to patients and families
- Administer preoperative medications, IV therapy, and surgical preparation
- Participate in surgical site verification, procedural time-outs, and universal safety protocols
- Monitor patient condition throughout perioperative care and respond to emergencies appropriately
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered perioperative nursing care
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and monitor patient outcomes throughout surgical procedures
