About The Position

Registered Nurse-OR Part Time I First Shift (3x8’s) Operating Room I Lexington, KY. The Surgical Services Department encompasses several key areas: the Pre-Op Department, 20 operating rooms with a business office staff responsible for scheduling, a Postoperative Care Unit, an Endoscopy Department with dedicated pre- and post-op areas, and a Sterile Processing Department. The Registered Nurse-OR is responsible for assessment of patients’ needs, development of patient care plans, provision of direct care, management of patient care delivery, demonstrating leadership skills, supporting quality care, and fostering customer relations and a healing environment. This role has an on-call requirement for weekends/holidays picked by rotation. Operating Room Nurses provide care and support to patients before, during and after surgery. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking and creativity. The nurse must possess the ability to supervise and delegate appropriate work to Patient Care Techs, Licensed Practical Nurses, Unit Secretaries, and Students.

Requirements

Current RN licensure and work permit in Kentucky
Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university
Applicants with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor’s degree program and must have achieved the degree within 5 years
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. If not already certified, must obtain BLS within 30 days of their hire date
ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of assignment
